St Pete (FL) had a triathlon that I went and took some pictures at. At the end, the running stage, I ended up standing next to one of the Triathlete wives, so she gave me the scoop as she could name almost everyone that came running by, at least in the pro or semi-pro class.

I don't remember who this first guy was, I just liked the picture because after a mile swim, 40 mile bike, and a 6 mile run, he still has enough energy to check out the cute chick on his left.

The guy in the red was the husband of triathlete wife. He finished pretty well in his class, but I don't remember if he caught the guy he was trailing here or not.

And finally, this is Sarah Haskins. She's a pro triathlete. The wife I was talking to was friends with her and gave me her email address as well so I sent her a couple pictures that I took and she did put one on her official pro web site, which is... SarahHaskins.com

My loyal friend, Trixie, is in a belly dancing club. I didn't even know there was such a thing. On occasion, they have what they call a Hafla, which is where they put on a show. I told Trixie I could come and take some pics, and she mentioned it to the instructor, so I got pulled into taking pics for the whole thing. A new experience, never really tried an indoor type of thing.

The best I could come up with was to detach the flash via a 2ft shoe cord, and mount that on a tripod. I took the pics from the side. It wasn't the most high-tech thing in the world, but at least getting a couple feet between the lens and the flash successfully eliminated any potential red-eye. I had taken a few shots at one of these things before with the flash mounted on the camera, and from a distance of 20ft or so got red-eye in almost half the pics. I'm now a big fan of the flash cord. I did get a strong shadow on the background, though.

Back in August my friend Trixie and I went on a beach dive off the coast of Venice FL. I had been there once before and found some small shark teeth, which is what the area is known for. On this occasion, we got lucky and actually found a couple of the giant Megalodon Teeth. Extinct for over 2 million years, and around 3X larger than today's Great White sharks.
